Intervention description

The issue
|
Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is based on the edge of Cambridge. It shares the hospital site with Cambridge University, Cancer Research UK and MRC, and employs about 7,000 of the 9,000 people on site. The campus currently attracts over 20,000 people a day. The 67 acre site is planned to double in size by 2020 to create the Southern Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The surrounding road network is already running at capacity, so the only way the planned development can take place is by shifting person trips away from private cars towards more sustainable travel choices. The first travel plan sets targets for changes in travel behaviour away from the car to improve accessibility for staff, patients and visitors
